On Friday, November 18, The General Society of Mechanics & Tradesmen (GSMT), presented its Annual Ciivic Leadership Award to John Catsimatidis, President and CEO, Red Apple Group, Inc. The Craftsmanship Award was presented to Lenore Janis, President Professional Women in Construction (PWC). Both the honorees received their awards at The General Society's Annual Craftsmanship Award Ceremony and Dinner Dance held at the Union League Club. Read the details.
The Mechanics' Institute is currently enrolling new applicants for its
spring 2012 semester. New courses in Electrical Technology, Plumbing
Design, and HVAC Systems will be offered on Mondays and Wednesdays,
beginning January 23. Courses in Project Management, Historic
Preservation, Construction Documents, and Facilities Management will be
on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning January 24, 2012. To apply, of

The Artisan Lecture Series promotes the work and art of skilled craftsmen to assist in ensuring their unique knowledge is understood and carried forth for future generations.
Curated by General Society member, Jean Wiart, famous for his many contributions to ornamental metalwork, the series will feature:
