Non-circulating Collections:

New York Center for Independent Publishing (NYCIP):

A browsing collection of recent offerings from small and independent publishers who are members of the NYCIP.

John M. Mossman Lock Collection:

The John M. Mossman Lock Collection represents one of the most complete anthologies of bank and vault locks in the world, with more than 370 locks, keys and tools dating from 4000 BC to the modern 20th-century.

Mechanics' Institute:

A reference collection of technical books, periodicals and non-print materials for Mechanics' Institute students and others interested in the building and construction trades.

Legacy Collection:

Books and periodicals published in the 19th and early 20th century on a variety of subjects.

Useful Arts:

New, Vintage, and Legacy books related to trades, crafts, fine and applied arts, architecture, engineering, printing and publishing. This category includes the NYCIP Collection on the history of printing and publishing.

Gilbert and Sullivan:

A small but rich collection of books and musical scores on the works of this famous team.

Archives:

Historic records of the General Society of Mechanics and Tradesmen and the NYCIP.
